Welcome to the top of Vermont.
At the highest point on Route 242 there is a parking lot and the Jay Peak trail head across the street. It’s 1.7 miles to hike up the Long Trail to the summit, including rocky scrambles, a mixed forest and a steep last stretch that spits out onto a ski trail. The summit is bare rocks with a 360° view of Mount Mansfield, Lake Champain, The White Mountains and Canada. Grab a snack and drink at the Sky Haus Deli (restrooms available) before climbing back down or continuing out to Big Jay.

Located down the mountain from Jay Peak, Vermont Salt Cave Spa is a state-of-the-art Salt Cave and Halotherapy Center for anyone seeking a restorative reprieve from a hard day’s ski, a space to achieve balance and wellness, or therapeutic aid for skin, lung, and anxiety disorders.
