What better way to spend a winter afternoon than to pack up the kids, lace up the skates and head to the nearest frozen lake, pond or skating arena. Chester Arena in Lyndonville offers public skating on weekends and more often during holiday weeks. In St. Johnsbury the Recreation Department maintains two outdoor rinks. One is at the Four Seasons Park at the corner of Main and Winter Streets. The other is on Portland Street near the Concord Avenue intersection.  If you're headed further North, visit the Newport City Skating Rink on Gardner Park Rd. in Newport.
