Trailhead : behind Hazen Union School, Hazen Union Dr., Hardwick, VT 05843
The Hardwick Trails are a system of over 10 miles of trails for four-season non-motorized outdoor activities, including singletrack biking, cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing.
During the summer season, we offer mountain biking, hiking, and running. There are 5.1 miles of trails for singletrack biking and a total of 10.8 miles for hiking and running. Visitors can enjoy mixed forest with a wide array of plant and animal life. Throughout the summer season, there are activities ranging from guided nature walks to community and family events. With a bit of exploring, visitors can discover a lake and other interesting locations. There's also a fitness loop with exercise stations along the entire route.
Once the snow begins to fall, the Trails offer up to 9k of groomed natural snow trails and another 8k of steeper ungroomed trails. Visitors to the Trails can contact us in advance if they need to borrow equipment -- we offer skiing and snowshoeing equipment for free on Saturdays throughout the winter season, weather allowing, for use on the trails. There are also winter events such as snowshoeing, moonlight snowshoeing, and nature events.
Hardwisk Trails welcome people from Hardwick and beyond to explore and experience. We hope to see you on the trails!
