Nestled in Groton State Forest, Ricker Pond State Park sits below the hustle and bustle of Lake Groton. The park has a quiet atmosphere where loons call nightly and many of the sites overlook the water. The pond is perfect to paddle around and can be accessed by a boat launch and a campers beach. Canoe and kayak rentals are available. The Groton State Forest offers many recreational opportunities with five state parks, several lakes, mountains and picnic areas, numerous trails and a Nature Center. The Cross Vermont Trail is a favorite for biking, hiking and horseback riding in the summer and snowmobiling and cross country skiing in the winter.
