An Authentic Vermont Vacation Awaits!

There’s so much to see and do here in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, as it’s rightfully named, you need more than just a day or two to explore our region. A day’s drive is sure to take you past one of our local farms to meet some cows and other critters.  Maybe even the alpacas at Log Cabin Farm.  And why not go for a llama trek while you're here? Where, you ask? At Agape Hill Farm in Hardwick.

Bring the whole family to the Fairbanks Museum, housed in a classic Victorian building where you'll find a dazzling array of animals and artifacts, dolls and tools, shells and fossils, and Vermont's only public planetarium.

Make a Pilgrimage to the Old Stone House Museum which houses 25 rooms of exhibits focusing on 19th century life in northern Vermont. The exhibits continue in Alexander Twilight's own house, two more historic houses, and a traditional barn.

There’s no shortage of Arts & Culture in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. At the Haskell Free Library and Opera House, you’ll find a variety of performances from “Annie” to the Vermont Symphony Orchestra. Down in St. Johnsbury, Catamount Arts shows independent films and hosts art exhibits, music and dance performances. Nearby, at the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum and Library, you’ll find 19th Century Paintings, Poetry Readings, and even reading activities for kids. The MAC Center for the Arts hosts the Annual Art on Main every Summer in the city of Newport. You’ll also find many proud Artisans and Crafters here, some open year round, others by appointment, but ready to welcome you and show you their wares from hand carved, custom furniture pieces to portrait and nature photography.

Of course, you can’t go home without some souveniers and one of those gifts must include a Maple Syrup product. You’ll find plenty of those at Couture’s Maple Shop in Westfield or Chandler Pond Farm in Wheelock. If it’s sugaring season (late March), you can even tour our sugarhouses.
